About
I paint using a variety of mediums and materials covering diverse subject matters such as ethnic art, seascapes, landscapes. My first love is capturing every day life while transferring it into drawings as seen through my eyes. I have a varied artistic style incorporating rawness and loose properties, and controversial. I just like to describe it as honest.
I am of Cossack and Celtic blood and I recently adopted my artist name ‘Dee Mischka’ , and in so doing identify with some of my varied roots . I have travelled extensively, and always undertaken vocational work. My artistic journey has become coloured by such life experiences.
Recent life experiences has led me to become a keen percussionist playing the Bodhran, Yambu Perunano giving the effects of Cuban Cajon sounds and regularly play for some well known names on the Northwest’s Singer\Song writing circuit.
